Healthy “Pasta”

Like most individuals, the cold weather makes me crave something warm, hearty and typically filled with carbohydrates. I’m a big pasta lover and created this meal to try to fill that void without overloading on carbs at dinner time. I admit I was sceptical the first time I steamed the beans and served this dish up. To my delight it was delicious, warm, filling and completely satisfying. I baked the turkey mince meat balls ahead of time, served them over the green beans and spooned the sauce on top. This dish is a regular in our house during the winter months. When I’m in a rush I buy the Leggos Stir Through Tomato, Olive & Chili pasta sauce although I prefer to make a healthy organic sauce myself.


Turkey  Mince Meatballs

  • 500 g Turkey / Chicken Mince
  •  5 x tablespoon wholemeal bread crumbs
  •  1 x egg white
  •  Garlic powder, salt & pepper to taste
  • Roll into balls & bake at 180C for 20-25 minutes

Serve over steamed green beans with your choice of sauce. Easy, healthy & delicious! Bon Appetite!
